The development of an elite point guard requires a wide combination of skills and abilities. This plan offers athletes the opportunity to broaden or develop skills that will lead them to perfect their competitive profile.
The Elite Point Guard Skills program is a standard training plan aimed at talented athletes seeking high-level, intense training, with the goal of improving their skills at every level.
The training components in this specialized plan are as follows:
Exceptional Dribbling Skills: How to attack the defense with your dribble, changing speed while dribbling, dribble changes, and ball protection combined with widening your field of vision.
Passing Skills: How to create opportunities for your teammates, understanding the reading of each situation for passing, and how to pass accurately by going through all types of passes, from the simple to the spectacular (no look, lob pass, etc.).
Defensive Skills: High-level defensive abilities, from on-ball defense to reading opponents’ passing lanes.
Shooting and Finishing Skills: When and how a point guard should shoot from both close and long range; a reliable scorer poses a threat to any defense.
Decision Making Skills – Court Vision: What is the way to read the opponent’s defense and make quick decisions in every situation.
Pick and Roll Skills: Excellent skills in using the pick and roll situation; when, how, where, and why to pass or execute within the pick and roll.
This specific training plan has only 14 available spots for participation, and athlete participation will be approved through a three-step evaluation process.
